Our practice is supported by a knowledgeable, long-standing office team, with several staff members having worked here since the practice was founded in 1973 by Dr. Edward J. Stepka Jr. That continuity allows us to provide consistent, thoughtful care to generations of families.
We are proud to remain an independent, family-owned dental practice. We are not owned by a corporate dental group, which allows us to focus on relationship-based care and long-term oral health rather than volume or quotas. Our practice welcomes patients of all ages and backgrounds, and every visit is approached with care, patience, and attention to lasting oral health.

Meet Dr. Greg
Dedicated to Clinical Excellence and Community Service in Northern Rhode Island
For over two decades, Dr. Gregory Stepka has been a trusted health advocate for families in Northern Rhode Island. Since establishing Stepka Family Dental in 2009, he has focused on providing care that is not only high-quality but also welcoming and accessible.
Leadership and Service
Dr. Stepka believes that being a dentist means serving the profession and the community. He has held numerous leadership roles dedicated to improving dental care standards, including serving as President of the Rhode Island Dental Association (2022–2023) and Past President of the Greater Woonsocket District Dental Society.
In recognition of his service and leadership, Dr. Stepka was the recipient of the Rhode Island Dental Association’s 2024 Frank Kershaw Leadership Award.
Commitment to Ethics
Dr. Stepka is deeply committed to the ethical practice of dentistry. This dedication has earned him invitation-only recognition from the profession’s most respected organizations. He was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (2022) and, most recently, was honored to become a Fellow of the American College of Dentists (2025)—a distinction rooted in excellence, ethics, and professionalism.
Beyond the Office Dr. Stepka has a long history of working to improve oral health for children in underserved communities. He championed the “Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures” program in Providence Public Schools and currently serves as the Lead Dental Examiner for the Providence & Smithfield School Districts.
