A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain which is bonded over a tooth to enhance a person’s smile. Veneers are the most conservative aesthetic restoration available in dentistry today. Typically veneers are indicated to replace bonded restorations, diastemas (gaps or spaces between teeth), and stained/chipped teeth.
Unlike bondings, which are typically done in one visit, veneers require multiple appointments incorporating impressions, photographs and provisionals to aid in the fabrications of an aesthetic restoration.
